Wanted Michigan man says he'll turn self in, bring doughnuts to police if post gets 1K shares

A man who has active warrants promised Redford Township that he would turn himself in and bring officers doughnuts if a Facebook post got 1,000 shares.

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man who police said has active warrants promised Redford Township that he would turn himself in and bring officers doughnuts if a Facebook post got 1,000 shares.

A man who goes by Champagne Torino told police he would turn himself in and bring police a dozen doughnuts if the department's next post got enough shares. He also promised to clean up litter around public schools.

Police accepted the challenge and posted Torino's message Friday night on the city's Facebook page.

In a little more than an hour, the post exceeded 1,000 shares.

"He may or may not be a man of his word. It is our experience everyone gets caught at some point. He has drawn a lot of attention to himself, and that makes it hard to hide from reality," police posted after the post reached 1,000 shares.
