Rodgers, Stafford off to a slow start

QBs complete a combined 2 passes in first quarter of critical game

DETROIT – Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers are off to a slow start in their showdown for the NFC North title.

The quarterbacks combined to complete just three passes in the first 10 minutes of the contest with both superstars missing open receivers.

Stafford had a huge miss when he overthrew Golden Tate on what would have been a 30+ yard gain. He picked up some steam toward the end of the quarter, hitting Tate twice for 17 yards gains into Green Bay territory. He ended up 5 of 9 for 67 yards in the quarter.

Stafford did set a career milestone, becoming the fastest QB in NFL history to top 30,000 passing yards.

Rodgers scrambled around but couldn't find open receivers, going just 1 for 5 for eight yards in the first quarter. He had five rushing yards.
