DETROIT – The NHL trade deadline is March 1 and it's clear the Detroit Red Wings, barring a miraculous turnaround, are going to be sellers.
What's not clear is if GM Ken Holland has any plans to actually sell anyone.

Here's what Mark Easson of MyNHLTradeRumors has to say about the Wings:
Thomas Vanek should interest multiple teams at the deadline, the Wings will likely wait until close to the deadline in hope of getting the highest return. Guessing they would get a second round pick or maybe a third and fourth round pick or a prospect.
Vanek won’t re-sign with them in the offseason. He’ll want a multi-year deal and a big raise. The Wings won’t have a lot of salary cap space.
If the Red Wings were to trade Gustav Nyquist or Tomas Tatar, they’d want a roster player and not draft picks or prospects. Those type of trades normally happen in the offseason and not at the deadline.
The Red Wings stunned everyone with back-to-back wins this weekend over the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins. With 23 games left, could this be the start of that miraculous turnaround?
