DETROIT – The Detroit Lions are almost on the clock.

Well, we're still months away from the 2019 NFL Draft but that doesn't mean we can't stare at mock draft boards and act like we know what's going to happen.

The Lions have the No. 8 overall pick in the draft and there are a lot of choices. The draft class is loaded with defensive prospects and the Lions could use all of them.

Here's a look at what those wacky mock drafts are saying about your beloved Lions:

NFL.com's Chad Reuter: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson: "Replacing Ziggy Ansah, who's expected to depart in free agency, is a must for Detroit."

Bleacher Report: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

NBC Sports: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU: "Ideally one of the edge rushers fall to eight. That likely occurs especially if the quarterbacks push up. For now and considering the NFC North passing attacks, the Lions should upgrade the corner spot opposite Darius Slay."

Sporting News: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson: Ferrell is the best of the Tigers’ defensive line prospects, because his size (6-5, 260 pounds) gives him a high floor as an outside run-stopper to add to his explosiveness as a pass-rusher. He’s the kind of versatile player out of whom Matt Patricia can get the most, and he also fits the Lions' top need.

DraftTek: Devin White, LB, LSU: "The line of thinking here is, with the Lions' linebacking corps made up of Jarrad Davis, Devon Kennard, Christian Jones, Eli Harold, and Trevor Bates (who recently had a run in with the law), it may be wise to become more athletic at this position, give Patricia a new toy, and if you can't get Ferrell or Allen, acquiring White would be another opportunity for the Lions to address their pass rush that tied for 11th in the NFL with 43 sacks in 2018. As the Lions improved their defense in yards allowed per game into the Top 10, why not build upon that strength?"

CBS Sports: Byron Murphy, CB, Washington: The Lions' secondary ranked 31st in pass defense, according to Football Outsiders, and Murphy is our top cornerback in this class.
