One of three suspects won’t be charged after deadly Fairlane Town Center shooting, prosecutors say

Police said gunfire erupted inside the mall Friday after a fight escalated, killing two and injuring one

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – One of the three people arrested following a deadly shooting at Fairlane Mall will not face charges, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Prosecutors said there was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges against the individual.

Police said gunfire erupted inside the mall Friday (July 3) after a fight escalated.

The shooting left two people dead and another person injured.

The two other individuals arrested in connection with the shooting are still facing charges.

Investigators have not released their names, but they are expected to appear in court on Tuesday (July 7).

The investigation into the deadly shooting remains ongoing.
