DETROIT – Apple and Major League Baseball have announced the September schedule for “Friday Night Baseball,” the weekly doubleheader streaming every Friday on Apple TV+ during the 2025 regular season.

The September lineup features late-season games with playoff implications and some of baseball’s most historic rivalries.

The Detroit Tigers, although slumping, have been flexed for their Sept. 26 matchup against the Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park.

The Tigers will hopefully regain their mojo during that time, as both teams face off against each other in the final three games of the 2025 regular season, which could have postseason implications.

First pitch is slated for Friday (Sept. 28) at 7:10 p.m.

As of July 24, 2025, the Tigers were the first team to win 60 games this season, but they have struggled lately, losing nine of their last 10 games.

At one point, the Tigers, who are on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-5 on July 22, endured a six-game consecutive skid over 11 days.

The Tigers are looking for a spark as they host the Toronto Blue Jays for a three-game homestand at Comerica Park.

First pitch Thursday (July 24) is slated for 6:40 p.m., where Reese Olson will take the mound vs. Eric Lauer to kick off the battle of 60-win teams.

Speaking of 60, fans in 60 countries and regions can watch two marquee matchups each week with enhanced production, expert commentary, and no local broadcast restrictions.

On Sept. 12, reigning MVP Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees visit Fenway Park to face the Boston Red Sox. On Sept. 19, Shohei Ohtani and the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers take on the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium.

Friday Night Baseball is presented by Chevrolet and Essilor. It is produced by MLB Network’s Emmy Award-winning team in partnership with Apple’s live sports production crew.

Each week’s coverage includes distinguished broadcast teams such as Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst), Heidi Watney (sideline reporter), Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), and Tricia Whitaker (sideline reporter). Announcer assignments will be announced weekly. Siera Santos, Russell Dorsey, and Xavier Scruggs return to host live pregame coverage from the studio and on the field.
