Chet Lemon, a fan favorite from the 1984 World Series champion Detroit Tigers, has died at the age of 70.
Lemon played in the majors from 1975 to 1990, including nine years with the Tigers.
He, along with Kirk Gibson and Alan Trammell, led that 1984 team to take home the title with 20 home runs.
Later in life, Lemon suffered from a series of strokes.
His family says he passed away on Thursday (May 8) at his home in Florida.
