Former Detroit Pistons shooter Malik Beasley is no longer a target in a federal gambling probe, according to ESPN.
Beasley was set to sign a 4-year deal to stay with the Pistons before the gambling allegations surfaced in late June, which paused all contract talk with the Pistons and other NBA teams.

Beasley was one of the best three-point shooters in the league last season, helping lead the Pistons to their first playoff appearance since 2016.
It’s unclear if the Pistons are still interested in bringing Beasley back, but other teams will likely be picking up the phone.
“Months after this investigation commenced, Malik remains uncharged and is not the target of this investigation,” Beasley’s lawyer Steve Haney told ESPN. “An allegation with no charge, indictment or conviction should never have the catastrophic consequence this has caused Malik. This has literally been the opposite of the presumption of innocence.”
The Pistons signed Caris LeVert and traded for Duncan Robinson in free agency, to shore up the void left by Beasley and Tim Hardaway Jr., who signed with Denver.
