Regarding defensive attention, Williams noted that opponents have been giving him more help coverage to limit his deep-threat ability.

Williams said the Lions had plans to counter this and emphasized the strength of the overall roster, which can make explosive plays even if one player is taken out of the game.

He praised the Lions’ front office, particularly general manager Brad Holmes, for rewarding key players like Aidan Hutchinson with contract extensions.

Williams said keeping the core group together was a strategic move that strengthens team chemistry and increases championship chances.

He expressed gratitude for playing his first few NFL years with a consistent group of teammates, which has helped build strong relationships and a team-first mentality.

Williams said he was not frustrated with his current catch totals and remained patient, confident that his time to shine would come.

He described the Week 8 bye-week as a valuable time to rest, watch football, and spend time with family.

Looking ahead to the final stretch of the season, Williams said the Lions feel refreshed and ready to push hard for a championship.

Williams acknowledged the importance of maintaining consistent intensity in practice to perform well in games.

He identified improving the third-down offense and increasing explosiveness as key team goals moving forward.

Amon-Ra St. Brown

St. Brown noted the break helped the team prepare for the second half of the season.

Reflecting on the team’s success against the Vikings’ defense, St. Brown credited the coaching staff and players for executing solid game plans.

St. Brown acknowledged the Vikings are a strong defense with varied schemes that require the Lions to stay sharp and ready.

He expressed excitement as he watched younger defensive players make key plays during the recent Tampa Bay win on Monday Night Football.

St. Brown said it was inspiring to see less experienced players step up and hopes they continue contributing throughout the season.

He congratulated defensive end Aidan Hutchinson on his contract extension, calling it well-deserved.

St. Brown noted that as the season progresses, fatigue can set in, so maintaining effort in practice is crucial to performing well on game day.

Regarding team goals, St. Brown said the offense must improve on third-down conversions and be more explosive.

He expressed a desire for shorter, more efficient drives rather than long, drawn-out possessions.

Robertson said the team approaches every game with the same intensity and focus, aiming to win each week regardless of the timing or opponent.

He remains focused on the team’s collective goals.

Looking ahead to facing former Michigan Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy, Robertson highlighted McCarthy’s talent, resilience, and ability to bounce back from mistakes.

Robertson said the defense must treat McCarthy like any other elite quarterback and prepare accordingly.

He noted that every game counts in the NFL, especially division matchups, and the Lions must approach each opponent with full focus to avoid being caught off guard.

When asked about his matchups with Jefferson, Robertson expressed respect for Jefferson’s elite talent but said his own confidence remains high.
