DETROIT – The last time the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles met was in 2022, and not only did the Eagles beat the Lions in their own den, but they are the current reigning Superbowl champions.

The Eagles are ranked above the Lions in NFL Power Rankings going into week 11 and even ranked first on some lists.

This comes after they beat the Green Bay Packers 10-7 and the Lions beat the Washington Commanders 44-22 in week 10 with head coach Dan Campbell playcalling instead of offensive coordinator John Morton.

Campbell told reporters earlier in the week he plans to continue calling plays this week versus the Eagles.

Coaches and players alike had high praise for the Eagles while speaking with media, Scottie Montgomery calling them “The most talented defense we’ll see from top to bottom,” calling them elite.

David Carrao dubbed their offensive line “One of the biggest, baddest O-Lines in the league,” saying the Lions just need to “Figure out a way to out-leverage the leverage.”

Jared Goff and Aiden Hutchinson shared sentiments of excitement about playing in an environment like Philadelphia, a city known for its rowdy, passionate fans.

“It’ll be great, it’ll be fun, it’ll be a ruckus,” Goff commented, adding that the Lions will “Have their hands full, but we’re ready.”

Hutchinson called the matchup a “Must-win,” stating the environment will be “Hostile but those are fun environments to play in.”

The Lions will face the challenge of stopping the Eagles’ notorious “tush push” play, Campbell assuring “We have a plan, we just have to execute.”

The Lions and Eagles will face off this Sunday, Nov. 16 at 8:30 PM EST on NBC.
