DETROIT – The Detroit Lions are getting ready to take on the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football in what many are calling one of the biggest games of the season for both teams.
The Lions got some good news on Thursday (Dec. 4) that All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown will be active in the matchup after suffering a low-ankle sprain during their Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

With the news, prior to kickoff, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said he was feeling pretty confident about his team in the game.
According to NFL Network reporter Jane Slater, Prescott told her that the team remembers what it was like when they played in Detroit a few years ago and how they lit up the Lions’ secondary for a lot of passing yards.
Prescott also said that with his new crew of weaponry, the Cowboys are about to do it again.
Just asked Dak Prescott what he remembers from the last one here “that we lit them up. Lot of passing yards. About to do it again”

That last game at Ford Field was in November 2019, when Prescott threw for 444 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-27 win.
That performance remains one of Prescott’s best games of his career.
However, the Lions have changed since then, finishing that season 3-12-1, but they have weaponry of their own for the high-profile matchup.
The Lions are dealing with injuries in their secondary as safety Kerby Joseph and cornerback Terrion Arnold were ruled out for the matchup, which has Prescott licking his chops as he’s looking forward to feeding wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens early and often.
Prescott is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the National Football League, ranking second in passing with 3,261 passing yards and 25 touchdowns.
Like the Lions, Prescott and the Cowboys played on Thanksgiving Day, taking down the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 inside AT&T Stadium.
Prescott threw for 320 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in the victory.
The last time both teams met was during the 2024 season in Arlington, Texas, when Detroit ran up the score, defeating the Cowboys 47-9.
Head coach Dan Campbell addressed managing games in which the team can score heavily against an opponent, as they did against the 2024, emphasizing a straightforward approach.
“I don’t think of it in any of those terms,” Campbell said. “You go in with a game plan specific to that opponent. If you’ve got them and you’re getting first downs, you want to use what you’ve got. It’s as simple as that. You’re just trying to move the ball and play football.”
Campbell noted there is no ill will in running up the score in games.
“There’s no ill will about it. You’re just trying to play football. We’re trying to score points and eliminate points on defense. That’s what they’re trying to do, too,” Campbell said.
Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m.
