ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff expressed confidence in the team’s ability to put points on the board after scoring 34 points last week against a strong opponent in the No. 1-seed Los Angeles Rams.
“Yeah. No, we’ve been moving the ball well and certainly this past week, scoring a little bit, and again not enough to win the game. So that’s all that matters to us,” Goff said.

Goff emphasized the need to find a way to score just one or two more touchdowns to secure wins.
He acknowledged coach Dan Campbell’s frustration with questions about the team’s ability to avoid consecutive losses.
“If we want to stop getting that question, we’ve got to start stringing some together,” Goff said. “We’ve got to bounce back this week and then string them together.”
When asked about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ style of play, Goff agreed with Campbell’s assessment that they play “bully ball.”
“They’re a tough, physical team. They’re AFC North. They play downhill. They’re strong, and that’s what they pride themselves on,” Goff said.
Goff praised Aaron Rodgers’ skills and longevity.
“His ability to put the ball wherever he wants and at whatever speed and pace he wants to and the mobility,” Goff said.
Goff described his relationship with Rodgers as friendly, and he saw him occasionally.
Asked if he wants to play as long as Rodgers has, Goff joked about Rodgers’ 21 years in the league.
“It’s like 21. I’m halfway there,” Gpff said.
Goff welcomed the challenge of playing in a situation requiring urgency and resilience.
“You’d much rather have the division locked up and be looking towards other things, but yeah. No, I think it gets us an opportunity to find out who we are and our character,” Goff said.
Goff expressed confidence in the team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
“Our players’ character, our coaches’ character, is going to shine through in moments like this adversity and see who we are. I know who we are, so I know what I expect to happen,” Goff said.
