Former Detroit Lions star linebacker Tracy Scoggins dies at 56

Former Detroit Lions star linebacker Tracy Scroggins has died at age 56.

The Lions posted on Instagram Monday, Feb. 9, saying, “We join the NFL community in mourning the loss of Lions Legend Tracy Scroggins, who played his entire 10-year career in Detroit (1992-2001).”

Scroggins spent his entire NFL career with the Lions.

The linebacker and defensive end was a second-round draft pick out of Tulsa, selected 53rd overall in 1992.

During his time in Detroit, Scroggins recorded 321 tackles and 60.5 sacks in 142 games before retiring in 2001.

The cause and circumstances of his death have not been revealed.
