Kimberly Gill joined the Local 4 News team in November 2014. Before joining WDIV, Gill worked in Pittsburgh and Cleveland. She started her career at WBTW, the CBS affiliate in Florence/ Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Although she's originally from South Carolina, Gill has come to appreciate the change of seasons and the cold Midwest winters. Before working in television, Kimberly drove 18-wheelers for FedEx and fueled commercial and private airplanes for Eagle Aviation. She worked both jobs to pay her way through college at the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Even today Kimberly maintains her Class-A commercial driver’s license just in case TV doesn't work out and she needs to return to driving trucks. Throughout her career, Kimberly has been recognized for her work in broadcasting. She was named Personality of the Year in 2009 by the Ohio Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame. She’s also a two-time Emmy winner. Kimberly is an avid sports fan and especially enthusiastic about her alma mater's football team, the South Carolina Gamecocks. She’s thrilled to be in The D and is looking forward to meeting people, discovering new restaurants and shopping.
