Jason is Local 4’s utility infielder. In addition to anchoring the 5:30 newscast, he reports daily on a variety of stories. More recently, he has reported on the floods in Midland, the protests in the streets of Detroit and the abuses at Michigan and Michigan State.
Jason got his start in Lansing in 2000 as a sports reporter at WILX, which is why he looks like he’s having so much fun when he fills in on the sports desk from time to time. In 2002, he pivoted to the news desk and after a long run in Lansing, joined WDIV in 2015.
Oddly enough, Jason was a snowbird growing up. During the school year he and his brother lived on Anna Maria Island in Florida with his mom and spent the summers in Michigan with his dad. After high school, he came back home full time and graduated from Michigan State University.
Jason is a proud #GirlDad three times over and lives in Ferndale with his wife Ida, their baby girl Rosie, and their dog C.C.
Feel free to email him with story ideas or ask him to host your charity event because he's anxious to get out and see more of the city.
