Incumbent, challenger face off for commissioner seat in Kent County’s 10th District
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A Kent County commissioner will be challenged Aug. 2 in the Republican primary by one candidate for her seat representing the 10th District. Incumbent Emily Post Brieve will face challenger Bill Hirsch in the Aug. 2 Republican primary to represent their party in the November election for Kent County’s 10th District. Kent County’s 10th District is represented by Gaines Township and parts of Caledonia Township. Kent County is a great place with many opportunities. I am running to help Kent County continue thrive as a great place to live, work, and play.

Eric Esshaki, a Birmingham attorney and former nurse, is mounting a campaign to represent Michigan’s newly-drawn 10th U.S. House District. Esshaki announced his intention to run for the 10th District shortly after the map was finalized. Michigan’s 10th District includes portions of Macomb County and Oakland County, covering communities of Warren, Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, Shelby Township and Rochester. Esshaki is the first Republican to announce his intention to run for the 10th District, but others are considered possible candidates.
