The incident began around 2:30 a.m. when a Kalamazoo police officer spotted a stolen car on West Kilgore Road just east of South Westnedge Avenue. During the chase, the fleeing vehicle hit another vehicle, causing minor damage, before the driver fled on footA Kalamazoo police tracking dog then found the suspect, a 19-year-old Kalamazoo resident. An officer was bitten by a dog that was in the stolen vehicle. The driver of the vehicle that was struck by the fleeing vehicle was not hurt.
