The wild ride for the summer's blockbuster stock, AMC, got even crazier on Thursday. It's the latest stupefying, nearly unexplainable move for one of the “meme stocks” that have rocked Wall Street this year, Many professional investors say AMC, GameStop and other meme stocks have hit heights untethered to reality and are primed for a steep fall, but that's not stopping an army of smaller-pocketed and novice investors from holding their ground and promising to take their prices “to the moon.” For AMC, that so far has meant vaulting its stock price from below $2 early this year to the $50.85 average price that it sold shares for on Thursday.

JACKSON, MI -- A man accused of fatally shooting another outside a Jackson AutoZone in 2019 is scheduled to appear before a jury in August. Bankhead allegedly shot Kordell Brzozowski after an argument on May 18, 2019, at the AutoZone located on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. At Friday’s hearing, defense attorney Antonio Tuddles and prosecutor Jake Dickerson agreed on an Aug. 30 date for Bankhead’s jury trial. Police believe Bankhead shot Brzozowski, then left his car at his mother’s house and took an Uber to Menard’s on Page Avenue, where he was apprehended by police shortly after the shooting. Stitch Fix earned 9 cents per share, compared to the 20-cent loss analysts surveyed by Refinitiv had expected. Revenue came in at $490.4 million, which was also ahead of the $481.2 million estimate. Pfizer — Shares of the pharmaceutical company gained 2% on Tuesday as the U.K. began to rollout the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech. The firm said it expects the company to beat estimates when it reports second-quarter results after the market closes on Dec. 17.

By comparison, Amazon and Walmart shares have risen by about 14% and 18%, respectively, over the last 12 months. AutoZone has helped boost its stock price, in part, by buying back its own stock for nearly two decades. In recent years, the company has invested in building a network of large distribution centers and training staff to develop relationships with mechanics.

On Wednesday, FedEx introduced SameDay Bot, a 200-pound autonomous delivery robot developed by DEKA Development & Research Corp., according to USA Today. FedEx is partnering with AutoZone, Lowe's, Pizza Hut, Target, Walgreens and Walmart so they can help make same-day, "last-mile" deliveries to local customers. Currently, FedEx offers same-day delivery service in 32 markets and 1,900 cities using FedEx employees, but the new robot would be able to deliver to customers who live in close proximity to a FedEx store. Amazon is already testing a robot called the Amazon Scout, which looks like a cooler with six wheels. These delivery robots also can't deliver packages that need a signature, so there is that, too.
