Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash has been named the 2020 American League Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America. The second-place finisher, former Chicago White Sox manager Rick Renteria, was fired after the season despite leading the White Sox to their first playoff appearance in 12 years. Cash is the second Rays manager to be honored with the award, joining Joe Maddon, who won in 2008 and 2011. In the National League, Don Mattingly of the Miami Marlins was named Manager of the Year.
