Akil Baddoo’s beef with ump raised eyebrows. ‘It looked more contentious than it was’
Detroit Tigers rookie outfielder Akil Baddoo has accomplished just about everything you can imagine in the first week of his big-league career. “I think it’s just a competitor who was locked in a pretty good at-bat, pretty good battle against a lefty, maybe even his first lefty face in the big leagues,” Hinch said. Stu’s a really good guy and a good umpire and he just told it right back to him. I think it looked a little bit more contentious than what it was when I got out there. But overall it was a good night, as he went 2-for-4 and hit his fourth home run in the Tigers’ 8-2 win.mlive.com
Correa hits walkoff homer to keep Astros alive in ALCS

Otherwise, big league clubs leading 3-0 in a best-of-seven postseason series are 37-1. Correa also hit a walkoff homer in Game 2 of the 2017 ALCS off Aroldis Chapman of the New York Yankees. Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa (1) and center fielder George Springer (4) celebrate the team's 7-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in a baseball game at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, in Los Angeles. But there were multiple reminders that Dodger fans haven’t forgotten the Astros’ cheating scandal from their 2017 championship. Kelly's curled lip has been immortalized in a spray-painted wall mural by an artist in Los Angeles. Taylor blasted a two-run shot into the right-field pavilion with two outs in the second, giving Los Angeles a 2-1 lead. Astros outlast Angels 6-5 in 11; Ohtani has arm discomfort
Before those two dramatic extra innings, Ohtani started the day by issuing five walks and getting only five outs before getting pulled from his second rough start of the season. That first inning was outstanding, said Angels manager Joe Maddon, who apparently wasn't aware Ohtani was headed for an MRI during his postgame interview. Any sustained absence would be a double blow to the struggling Angels, who use Ohtani as their designated hitter on most days between his pitching starts. After a strong eight-pitch first inning, Ohtani walked his first three batters of the second.
