Michigan State WR Ricky White shares Big Ten Co-Freshmen of the Week honors
The Michigan State wide receiver earned Big Ten Co-Freshmen of the Week honors on Monday after recording eight catches for 196 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 27-24 upset win at Michigan. They’re also the second-highest total for a Michigan State player against Michigan, behind the 255 Plaxico Burress posted in 1999. White is the first Michigan State player to earn Big Ten player of the week honors since then-senior linebacker Joe Bachie was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a Sept. 21 win at Northwestern last season. White on Monday was also named the Pro Football Focus national true freshman of the week. Michigan State (1-1) will play at Iowa (0-2) on Saturday (noon, ESPN).
