Freeman, Miller, Thomas among big NFL names still unsigned
Freeman is still unsigned as Week 1 of the NFL season begins. Several familiar names and players on roster bubbles took turns on the unemployment line with some finding new jobs. Adrian Peterson was cut last week by Washington, but quickly landed in Detroit. Cowboys render coin toss mix-up moot, throttle Rams 44-21

Coming off two of his better games of the season, Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a rough outing that looked better at the end because of his fourth-quarter numbers with the outcome decided. Those two TDs essentially made the coin toss question moot, but the Twitter storm had long since raged. After the Cowboys won the toss, and Prescott initially made a reference to kicking off before saying the Cowboys would defer. Cowboys: Can clinch a second straight NFC East title and fourth in six seasons with a win over the Eagles.
Jerry Jones tries everything, but Cowboys can't get it right

"Until we can win a football game, I don’t care what kind of contention we’re in," Jones said. The Cowboys (6—7) have never made the playoffs in a season with two losing streaks of at least three games. Despite seven losses in 10 games, Dallas will be no worse than tied with Philadelphia for the NFC East lead with three games remaining.
