Chelsea’s Grant Fanning humbled by Michigan Football Coaches Hall of Fame induction

CHELSEA – Grant Fanning was beyond shocked when he learned he would be inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Despite being considered one of the state’s top defensive coordinators for more than two decades at Chelsea, Fanning was still surprised he was going to be a member of the hall of fame and inducted on June 24. Assistants usually take a little longer.”Fanning hasn’t been just any defensive coordinator during his 25-year tenure with the Bulldogs. “I’m sure that it helped with the runs that we’ve the last few years,” Fanning said. It has worked out really well, so I think I’m still going to do it for a while.”

Best bets for Thursday, opening day of March Madness 2022

#8 Boise State ML over #9 MemphisSports teams love to use any perceived disrespect as motivation, and Boise State could rightly feel aggrieved to be only a #8 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Boise State has a wealth of experience to power their challenge this month, with senior guards Emmanuel Akot, Abu Kigab and Marcus Shaver their key performers. Boise State has been far more content playing away from its home court, going 13-5 ATS away from home, and winning 14 of those games. This game is being played in Portland, so Boise State should also have an edge in fan support in the building. Long-range shooting fuels Chelsea win over Jackson

JACKSON – Strong 3-point shooting, fueled by strong ball movement, helped Chelsea build a first half lead, and strong defense helped the Bulldogs hold off several small Jackson runs in a 63-43 win over the Vikings on Tuesday. Jacob Stephens fed Joseph Cabana for a 3-pointer to give Chelsea an early lead, then it was Lucas Hanifan feeding Stephens. Also helping that turnaround was defense, with Chelsea forcing turnovers on four of Jackson’s next 16 possessions, as Chelsea built a 28-13 lead. “That 3-point shooting is just tough to stop when they’ve got it going on,” Jackson coach Milton Barnes said.
