Environmental Protection Agency crews are on scene at a home on Carpenter Street in Northville, cleaning up after a mercury spill from a grandfather clock’s pendulum was reported last Wednesday.

It’s been a roller coaster for Donna Marks, Damita Pitman and their 80-year-old aunt, Rosetta.

Since March, Damita Pitman and her elderly aunt Rosetta have been dealing with flood waters coming into their Carpenter Street home in Detroit. But since the recent major rainfall, Pitman said they have had at least a foot of raw sewage in the basement.
