Michigan RB Christian Turner to enter transfer portal
A rarely used member of Michigan’s running back room is the latest player with plans to depart. Christian Turner, a junior from Georgia, announced Saturday that he intends to enter his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal “and begin a new chapter of my life.”The move would allow coaches from other programs to recruit Turner, who has three years of eligibility remaining. Last year, the 5-foot-11, 203-pound Turner was part of the running back rotation alongside sophomore Hassan Haskins and true freshman Zach Charbonnet. Turner only appeared in three games as a true freshman in 2018, rushing 20 times for 99 yards. Turner is the third Michigan player to announce his plan to transfer in recent weeks, joining freshman offensive lineman Zach Carpenter and senior punter Will Hart.

Michigan running back rejoins team for 2020 season
Christian Turner, the Michigan running back who opted out of playing the 2020 season in August, has rejoined the team for the fall. The 5-foot-11, 203-pound Turner appeared in 10 games during the 2019 season, rushing 44 times for 171 yards and a touchdown. But pass-protection and ball-handling issues popped up, limiting his opportunities on the field, and an injury sidelined Turner for the final three games of the season, including the Citrus Bowl against Alabama. “CT’s ready to roll,” Michigan running backs coach Jay Harbaugh said in May, before Turner opted out. The Wolverines have now had two players who “opted out” of the 2020 season return, including starting right tackle Jalen Mayfield.
