Nick Goepper, Alex Hall and Colby Stevenson advanced to the final in slopestyle after strong first runs in the qualifying round.

Colby Stevenson earned the U.S. its fifth silver of the Games while Birk Ruud claimed the first-ever Olympic gold in men's freeski big air.

USA's Nick Goepper, Alex Hall, Colby Stevenson and Mac Forehand finished a respective 22nd, eighth, fifth and second in men's freeski big air qualifying, with the latter three making the final.

Norway's Birk Ruud recorded the top two runs of the competition, while the Americans placed second, fifth, eighth and 22nd.

The 2021 world runner-up and 2020 X Games champion in freeski slopestyle has used lessons drawn from a 2016 car crash to guide and propel himself to new levels.
