Federal agents who typically investigate drug lords, weapons traffickers or cyber criminals have fanned out across the nation’s capital.

The U.S Department of Homeland Security Investigations is looking to recruit women to become special agents.

DETROIT A 44-year-old man from Washtenaw County is facing child pornography charges nearly four years after being released from prison for a similar conviction. According to the complaint Stapleton was found to have been texting with minors, encouraging them to send sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves. The man said he would communicate with a child for a few days, get bored and move on to another, the complaint reads. Under the criminal complaint Stapleton has been charged with using and enticing a minor to produce child pornography, coercing and enticing a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity, possessing child pornography and transferring obscene material to a minor. Stapleton -- a registered sex offender -- was previously convicted of two counts of possession of child pornography in 2013 and was released from prison in 2015.

DETROIT The federal government filed a criminal complaint Tuesday against a Dearborn Heights man who is accused of receiving and distributing child pornography online. The complaint, led by a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations in Detroit, claims that Dean William Paul, 47, used the Kik Messenger app to share and receive child pornography. The agent identified Paul as a user on the messenger app after subpoenaing information related to the users IP address. The complaint says Paul was communicating in a group chat that was not necessarily focused on child pornography, but members are said to frequently discuss their sexual interest in children. Though his face is not visible in the videos, authorities allege the man is Paul.
