Detroit Lions waive 2 more players ahead of first cut-down day, move C Evan Boehm to IR
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions announced on Monday they’ve cut running back Michael Warren and tight end Charlie Taumoepeau, both of whom were injured in the 16-15 loss on Friday night against the Buffalo Bills. The Lions also parted with cornerback Alex Brown earlier in the day, leaving them with 87 players heading into the first round of cuts. They have to be down to 85 by Tuesday, leaving the club with two more moves to make. The Lions also announced center Evan Boehm has been placed on injured reserve.

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions added a pair of offensive linemen to their active roster before their return to practice on Monday morning, signing center Evan Boehm to a free-agent contract and activating guard Evan Heim from the COVID list. The Lions have another offensive lineman named Evan -- last name “Brown” -- who remains on the non-football injury list. In other words, 21.4% of the offensive linemen now in camp are named Evan, and the humor was not lost on head coach Dan Campbell. He started nine games and appeared in 31 over two seasons before moving on to the Colts, Dolphins and Jaguars. He was placed on the COVID list in the days leading up to camp and has not yet practiced with the team.
