FARM TO TABLE

Grange Kitchen & Bar closes in downtown Ann Arbor

In a statement posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page, owner Brandon Johns said that he was sad and bummed about the closing.

JACKSON, MI -- Jackson’s Ella Sharp Museum is hosting its first-ever Farm to Table event to raise money for the museum’s programming, exhibits and events. The event, from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, offers a taste of locally grown products, like wine, Ella Beer, cheese, meats, bread and produce, and a chance to meet the people behind the food. Patrons will stroll up and down the museum’s historic Farm Lane, which is part of Ella Merriman-Sharp’s estate, which was willed to the city of Jackson in 1912 to become a park and museum. Tales of Ella and John Sharp’s farm, as well as dishes inspired by their recipes are also being offered.
