Trooper shoots armed man wanted for car theft, state police say
HOWELL TWP., MI – An armed man wanted in a stolen vehicle investigation in Livingston County was shot by a Michigan State Police detective trooper Tuesday, April 13. At about 9:45 a.m., a detective trooper was in the area of Milett Road in Howell Township looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation, according to the Michigan State Police. The trooper located the suspect, a 20-year-old Grand Rapids man, and at some point during an interaction with him was shot by the detective, police said. The Michigan State Police Forensic Crime Laboratory was called to the area to process the scene.
