Celebrate International Day of the Girl with Girls on the Run virtual 5K
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Run, walk, jump or skip your way to a 5K and support girls in Washtenaw County. In honor of International Day of the Girl on Oct. 11, Girls on the Run of Southeastern Michigan is hosting a virtual 5K to raise funds for its programs to help girls around Southeast Michigan. Money raised through the virtual 5K goes towards scholarships for girls that want to take part in Girls on the Run’s afterschool programs. Meghan Markle Posts Throwback Inside Edition Clip on Day of the Girl
Its International Day of the Girl and Meghan Markle shared a throwback clip of herself that was previously broadcast by Inside Edition. In the clip, young Meghan speaks out against an advertisement she perceived as sexist against women. In the full, inspirational video on Instagram, Meghan also encouraged girls to have confidence. "Every girl has the right to learn, the right to be heard, the right to play and to discover. Every girl has the right to be exactly who she is, Meghan says in the video.
