Jett Howard’s status uncertain for Michigan’s game vs. top-ranked Purdue
ANN ARBOR -- Jett Howard thinks he’s going to play for Michigan against Purdue on Thursday. “In Jett’s mind, he’s saying he’s going to play,” head coach Juwan Howard said with a laugh on Wednesday in a video conference call. And I’m not saying that’s going to be next game. He’s second only to Hunter Dickinson in scoring with 14.6 points per game, and is shooting 38 percent from 3. Should Jett Howard not be available on Thursday, Michigan could also give more minutes to Will Tschetter, Tarris Reed Jr., Isaiah Barnes, or others.

mlive.comRebounding continues to be a problem for Michigan after loss to Central Michigan
The Wolverines’ performance off the glass was a glaring weakness Thursday in a 63-61 home loss to Central Michigan, a disappointing end to the 2022 portion of the Wolverines schedule. “They beat us on the offensive glass; 17 offensive rebounds, that cannot happen,” said Michigan coach Juwan Howard. Central was led by Jesse Zarzuela with 19 points, Reggie Bass with 16 and Brian Taylor with 12. mlive.comPlaying big minutes or not at all, Michigan’s Jace Howard embraced role
He played that role to a T.”Howard appeared in 14 games last season, averaging 4.6 minutes in those contests. His dad, Michigan head coach Juwan Howard, often says, “Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.” Jace embraced that. In Michigan’s next game, which wasn’t until Jan. 14 because of a COVID outbreak, Howard stepped up again for the shorthanded Wolverines.
