Players and coaches who will make history in Sunday’s NCAA volleyball championship still find it hard to believe that a female coach hasn’t won one already.

Jess Mruzik had 26 kills, Caroline Jurevicius had 20 and Penn State rallied from an 0-2 semifinal hole for a five-set victory over Nebraska to reach the NCAA championship.

The University of Nebraska laid claim to the world record for largest attendance at a women’s sporting event with 92,003 filling Memorial Stadium for the Cornhuskers’ volleyball match against Omaha.

John is a World War II veteran who just turned 100, and Phyllis will turn 103 on Aug. 8. Longevity runs in Phyllis Cook's family; her mother also lived well into her 100s. I said 'good, let's get it over with,' " John Cook told CNN affiliate WNWO. He's upstairs, and I'm down," Phyllis Cook said.

"It wasn't the plan, but we got here and they said we could marry you here," John Cook said. John Cook is a World War II veteran who recently turned 100 years old. Phyllis Cook will turn 103 Aug. 3 -- which is still three years shy of how old her mother lived to be. Their relationship blossomed over the past months, and as a devout Christian woman, Phyllis Cook decided it was best to tie the knot.
