Ottawa won back-to-back games vs. Detroit April 1-3, both 5-2, in matchups between teams that have been eliminated from playoff contention. “In the first two we didn’t play great, but we could have won either game,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “I like our game better today than when we went into those games. The Red Wings, 2-0-1 in their past three, are stressing discipline after being shorthanded 16 times the past four games (they killed 15 penalties).
