Grosse Pointe Art Association hopes to offer people an escape from the stress of this year
GROSSE POINTE, Mich. – This year has been wild, and it might have taken a toll on you emotionally, mentally and even financially. The goal of the Grosse Pointe Art Center is to encourage kindness, respect and equality while bringing people together through art. “We want to reach out to everyone who wants to join us.”The art center is housed inside the Grosse Pointe War Memorial on Jefferson Avenue. “I think it has enriched my life greatly so there’s the inspirational part.”She said she’s watched the way art has helped education others and invite people to think. The Grosse Pointe Art Center is working on a virtual way for people to take in the artwork and classes.

grossepointenews.comArt from the Heart: Artist group, War Memorial partner for project
The War Memorial and the Grosse Pointe Artists Association have partnered to offer Art from the Heart: Frontyard Art Exhibition, now through Sunday, May 17. The one thing that comes out loud and clear is that we care about each other and Art from the Heart: Frontyard Art Exhibition allows us to express that.Participants are asked to email a photo of their work to gpaa@grossepointeartcenter.org. Entries are reviewed and winners selected by the Promising Artists Council of the Grosse Pointe Artists Association. The Grosse Pointe Artists Associations Frontyard Art Exhibition is a terrific program that encourages a true sense of community and it felt natural for The War Memorial to join as a partner. I also hope that the Frontyard Art Exhibition serves to demonstrate how accessible visual art is.
