GRAND BLANC, MI -- Former Grand Blanc student Evan Peters has won an Emmy. The former Grand Blanc Township resident, who moved to Los Angeles with his mother at age 15, won an Emmy for his performance in HBO’s “Mare of Easttown” as “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series” during the 73rd Emmys on Sept. 19. Peters plays Detective Colin Zabel alongside actress Kate Winslet, who stars in the show. Winslet and Julianne Nicholson also won Emmys for their roles on the show. He has been hired to play Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” expected to come out in Spring 2022.

An actor has been cast for the virus monologue, Hare said, but he declined to say who or name the theater where it will be staged. Hare received Academy Award nominations for his screenplays for 2002s The Hours with Nicole Kidman and 2008s "The Reader starring Kate Winslet, with both actors winning Oscars.
