An 18-year-old student is facing charges after a teacher at Summit Academy North High School in Romulus found a “suspicious backpack,” which sent the school into lockdown.

A student is in custody after a teacher at Summit Academy North High School in Romulus reported a suspicious package to the district’s liaison officer.

Walled Lake Central High School was placed under a lockdown on Tuesday morning after police received a report of shots fired at the school, but police have cleared the scene.
