President Donald Trump pardoned or commuted the sentences of more than 140 people in a last-minute clemency flurry after midnight on Wednesday, a list that included rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black. โ Rapper Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was given a full pardon. In the pardon, Lil Wayne was praised for his โcommitment to a variety of charities, including donations to research hospitals and a host of foodbanks.โ Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders backed the pardon. Lil Wayne is one of the seminal figures in rap in the last two decades, selling more than 20 million albums in the U.S. since releasing his debut in 1999. Supporters included Gucci Mane, Lil Pump, Lil Yachty, and athletes Lamar Jackson and Jack Brewer.

John Travolta offers positive spin on perceived VMAs flub
DALLAS - Actor and apparent Taylor Swift pen pal John Travolta wants you to know that he didn't accidentally mistake a drag queen for the real-life star while presenting at the MTV Video Music Awards on Monday. Travolta found himself in the center of yet another viral award show moment on Monday night when some viewers claimed the actor may have mistaken Taylor Swift impersonator Jade Jolie for the actual singer while on stage. In a conversation with Dallas-area radio station Hot 93.3, "The Fanatic" star explained that wasn't the case. While presenting Swift the award for Video of the Year, he said the interaction with Jolie spotted by viewers was one of confusion, not mistaken identity. Travolta said he tries to have "a sense of humor" about his various headline-making actions, from his haircuts to that viral moment at the 2014 Oscars when he accidentally referred to Idina Menzel as "Adele Dazeem."

Titled "Runaway Train 25," the updated music video for the song features real missing children, just like the original. Only now, one is no longer missing after the video helped a Minnesota family reconnect with their missing daughter following its release back in May, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. "It's surreal," Gallant said of the impact the song's music video has had. The music video was nominated in the category "Video for Good." The original "Runaway Train" video helped close about 20 cases.
