Ann Arbor elementary 1 of 13 Michigan schools earning Blue Ribbon recognition
ANN ARBOR, MI - Ann Arbor Public Schools’ Martin Luther King Elementary School has been recognized as one of 13 National Blue Ribbon Schools in Michigan. This is the second time King Elementary has been given Blue Ribbon status, as it also earned the honor in 2014. “Blue Ribbon Schools have so much to offer and can serve as a model for other schools and communities so that we can truly build back better.”Now in its 39th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has presented approximately 10,000 awards to more than 9,000 schools. Exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing Schools are among the highest performing schools in closing achievement gaps between a school’s student groups and all students. Other Michigan schools named as National Blue Ribbon Schools are:Avoca – Avoca Elementary School, Yale Public SchoolsBloomfield Hills – Conant Elementary School, Bloomfield Hills School District.
