City and state officials in Romulus filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to stop the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from moving forward with plans to use a commercial warehouse as an immigration detention facility.

The City of Romulus is looking to bring new life to its historic downtown. Like many other communities, the COVID-19 pandemic hit businesses hard, forcing some to close their doors for good.

Robert McCraight grabbed 59% of the vote in Tuesday’s General Election, defeating opponent Alan Lambert.
