In an emotional and historic exchange on Monday, Hamas released the final 20 living hostages held since the Oct. 7 terror attack, while Israel freed almost 2,000 Palestinian prisoners under a U.S.-brokered cease-fire deal that President Donald Trump called “the dawn of a new Middle East.”

A senior Hamas official says the terrorist organization is still waiting for a formal declaration of a cease-fire from Israel, even as both sides appear to have agreed on the first phase of a deal aimed at ending months of violence in Gaza.

FERNDALE, Mich. - After weeks of partisan battles Oakland County has a new leader. Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter has been appointed the new Oakland County executive. The Oakland County Board of Commissioners voted along party lines, 11-10. Coulter will have to resign as Ferndale mayor before being sworn in as Oakland County executive. A special meeting is set for Monday morning at the Ferndale City Council chambers.
