Saugus High School will remain closed until Dec. 2 but counselors will be available to help students cope with their grief, said school district officials in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita. Meanwhile authorities were investigating online threats against schools in and around the Santa Clarita, sheriffs officials said Sunday.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) A 16-year-old boy who shot five fellow students -- killing two -- before turning the gun on himself at a Southern California high school has died. The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department says Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow died at about 3:30 p.m. Friday at a hospital with his mother present. Authorities say Berhow pulled a gun from his backpack Thursday at Saugus High School in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita, shot five students at random and then shot himself in the head. The shooting, captured on security video, took 16 seconds and investigators say they still dont have a motive. Two girls remain hospitalized but are expected to be released this weekend.

Berhow died Friday afternoon from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Berhows mother dropped him off at Saugus High School in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita Thursday morning, which was his birthday. With this boy, investigators have found nothing out of the ordinary.

Someone posted a message under a pseudonym on an Instagram account that was reported as possibly belonging to the boy, authorities said.
