Orlando Whitfield, the suspected gunman in in two fatal Metro Detroit shootings, was found dead Sunday morning.

Marissa Edmunds and her boyfriend were shot on Jan. 11, 2018, in the course of a robbery at the University Green Apartments in Ypsilanti.

YPSILANTI, Mich. – An apartment building fire near Eastern Michigan University has displaced dozens of residents. According to the Ypsilanti Fire Department, the initial call came in shortly after 12:30 a.m. of a fire inside an apartment at the University Green Apartments. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one apartment and the attic of the building. A total of five people were injured, two with smoke inhalation and burns, two with smoke inhalation that refused medical attention and one baby that was injured during a fall while escaping the building.
