DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers rallied for two runs to tie the game in the ninth before falling to the Cleveland Guardians 4-3 in 10 innings on Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park. The first-place Guardians (59-52) swept the three-game series against the Tigers (43-70). Tigers starter Garrett Hill allowed three runs in five innings, although just one of them was earned. A throwing error by shortstop Javier Baez led to an unearned run in the second, while an error by third baseman Willi Castro led to an unearned run in the fourth. In the ninth, Harold Castro walked, Willi Castro followed with a single.
