NORTHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Both directions of U.S. 23 were shut down in Northfield Township due to a crash involving a semi truck, officials said.
A semi truck was traveling north on U.S. 23 when it struck a car, crossed the median and crashed into a pickup truck heading south, according to police.
There are serious injuries as a result of the crash, police said.
One person was taken to University of Michigan Hospital in critical condition, officials said. Someone from inside the pickup truck was flown to a hospital, police said.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes have reopened. The flex lane is closed for maintenance, officials said.
