Oakland County road commission installs all-way stop signs at 2 intersections

Commisson says signs temporary fix

The Road Commission for Oakland County has installed all-way stop signs at two intersections while it seeks funding for traffic lights or roundabouts.

The signs were installed Tuesday at the intersection of Sashabaw and Oak Hill Roads on the border of Independence and Brandon townships. The signs are a temporary measure to address increased accidents at the intersection, the road commission said. The new signs will remain at the intersection while the commission pursues funding for widening the intersection with a traffic signal or constructing a modern roundabout.

The road commission also is installing all-way stop signs at the intersection of Teggerdine and Elizabeth Lake roads in White Lake Township as a temporary measure to address safety related to increased accidents at the intersection. The sign installation will take place Wednesday.

The new signs will remain at the intersection while the road commission pursues funding for a permanent solution such as a traffic signal or modern roundabout.
