Speeding concerns rise among Detroit's Oakman Boulevard neighbors

Residents along Oakman Boulevard near Dexter Avenue in Detroit's west side are increasingly concerned about excessive speeding and frequent crashes, urging the city to install speed humps to improve safety. Despite the posted speed limit of 25 mph, vehicles often ignore it, leading to dangerous situations, as described by Charles Philpot and other longtime residents. Although the city has acknowledged their concerns, Oakman Boulevard does not qualify for the Resident Speed Hump Program, leaving the community worried about potential accidents.
