A protest erupted on Detroit’s East Side after a gas station shooting incident involving a clerk and a customer. The event, which occurred at the Valero station on Conant and East McNichols, drew community members concerned about safety and accountability at local businesses. Detroit Police Assistant Chief Franklin Hayes criticized the business owner's reckless use of a firearm, which resulted in the customer being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
