Competency hearing held for mom accused of smothering son, burying him behind Detroit home

Brandee Katrice Pierce, 41, the mother accused of killing her 9-year-old son and burying him in a shallow grave behind a home in Detroit, had a competency review hearing on Monday, June 9, 2025. She was found "incompetent but restorable." Another competency review hearing has been set for Aug. 8, 2025.
