Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital grows with $2.2 billion expansion, new research center

Henry Ford Hospital is undergoing a $2.2 billion expansion, marked by a new 20-story building with over 400 private rooms and 28 operating rooms, set to open by the end of 2029. The project, which began on September 12, 2024, includes additional features such as new parking garages, a 46,000-square-foot Central Energy Hub providing clean energy, and a Health Sciences Research Center in partnership with Michigan State University.
